DEVON SPORTSHALL LEAGUE

The Devon Sportshall League is for all junior athletes during the winter season.
The league takes place each winter from October to March with fixtures held at  the Plymouth Life Centre.

WESTWARD CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE

The Westward Cross Country League is for all junior and senior athletes during the winter season.
The league takes place each winter from October to March with fixtures held across Devon and Cornwall.

SOUTH WEST ATHLETICS LEAGUE

This league is for under 13 and above age groups against clubs from the South West, 13 clubs in all from Cornwall, Devon, Somerset & Dorset.

We are a joint team with our friends at Torbay A C and South Devon.

Athletes must wear club vest/t-shirt.

Team is by selection – Team managers (Janice & Mike Hindle) will contact athletes.

South West League are:

2nd June Match 2 – Exeter Arena by selection

30th June Match 3 – Exeter Arena by selection

01st September Match 4 – Exeter Arena by selection

 

Team Selection – Team Managers (Janice and Mike Hindle) will inform athletes, prior to the fixture date, in which events they are entered.

DEVON OPEN SERIES

For athletes 8 years and older who are club members, the Devon Open Series is a great way to start competition experience.

Events for all age groups from U11 to Seniors (ages as 31st August 2023) Entry Fee £10 for all (max 3 events for U11-U17, 5 for U20 and Seniors)

Masters should enter as Seniors (correct heights and weights will be used)

You can enter on the day which is £1 extra making it £11.

Athletes are required to wear club vests/club T-shirt.

EXETER OPEN COMPETITIONS

Exeter Harriers run friendly open competitions every last Tuesday of the month between March and September.
As the events are run in the evening, with limited time, not all disciplines may be scheduled at each event but rotated over the series.

All children over 8 years old are actively encouraged to compete: it does not matter what standard they are and help will be given by the officials so they know what to do.

As a guide the evening runs as follows;

Exeter Opens

28th May – online entry

25th June –  online entry

30th July – online entry

27th August –  online entry

24th September – online entry

 

Athletes should arrive by 5.30pm. Please check the competition timetable for the start time of a particular event.
The younger age groups will finish about 7.45pm.

An athlete can enter up to 3 events.

Entry fee: £12.00, through the online entry system.  Maximum of 3 events for all athletes

Entry in advance only, entries open approx 2 weeks prior to competition date.

Number of trials in Field Events: U13 & Below – 3 trials, U15 & Above – 4 trials
High Jump: Maximum 7 attempts

Waterproof Numbers: Will be available on the night

This number should be attached to your vest with 4 pins at the front and 4 pins at the back.

Athletes should arrive at their event 5 minutes before the start time.

For running events, the marksman will allocate athletes to their heat.

For field events, athletes will have the opportunity for 1 or 2 warm up throws/jumps.

Field Trials – U13 & Below 3 Trials, U15 & Above 4 Trials

Parents should stay for the evening to support and help their children get to their events on time.

NB U13s and above need to be affiliated to a club to compete, club vests are not required.
